Capping Stack Analysis

Capping stacks have been designed to be mounted on top of subsea BOP’s which require additional well control assistance in the event of an emergency.

The structural stability of a well is required to be certified during the planning stage so that a capping stack can be safely used if required. The capping stack may be required to be placed upon the Lower Marine Riser Package (LMRP), Blowout Preventer (BOP), Drill Through Horizontal Tree (DTHT) and subsea wellhead. The total span length of the system can therefore be long, which may lead to stability issues. It is therefore typical that a structural assessment is required when planning for capping stack operations.

AS Mosley have over 24 years of experience in managing well integrity, ensuring that operations are safely and efficiently carried out.
