The Managing Director of a specialist engineering consultancy which provides bespoke analysis and design services to the offshore oil and gas industry will be one of the keynote speakers at this week’s Offshore Well Intervention Conference in Aberdeen.
Andrew Mosley of Aberdeenshire-based AS Mosley will speak on the topic of ‘Minimising Wellhead Loads during Intervention and P&A Campaigns’.
A highly topical presentation, Andrew will discuss the benefits of lightweight intervention in relation to wellhead integrity alongside providing a detailed comparison of intervention equipment. He will also share some of his thoughts on SIL (Subsea Intervention Lubricator) operations and the options for reducing loads through this system.
A mix of conference and workshop sessions, the annual Offshore Well Intervention Conference is in its third year and will take place within the Hilton Treetops in Aberdeen from April 26-28.
This year’s programme has been developed through more than 40 primary research calls with leading intervention innovators who are challenging traditional methodologies to provide greater efficiencies within intervention and P&A.
Andrew Mosley said: “The OWI conference in Aberdeen has established itself as the leading European conference in all things related to well intervention and I’m looking forward to being part of what is a diverse and unique line-up of speakers who will be presenting at the event.
“My presentation, entitled ‘Minimising Wellhead Loads during Intervention and P&A Campaigns’, will share some of my own thoughts on the benefits of lightweight intervention and will touch on our findings through past experiences.
“Wellhead fatigue is becoming an increasingly important issue in offshore drilling given the level of aging assets currently in operation therefore it is essential to highlight the different options available to minimise any impact that intervention may have.”
Founded in 1997, AS Mosley has grown steadily since inception, providing high end, bespoke engineering analysis and design services to operators, manufacturers and service organisations worldwide.
With a range of engineering capabilities including global riser analysis, well integrity, conductor assessment and lightweight intervention, it is committed to supporting subsea oil and gas operations to be conducted safely in what are often harsh environments.
